Action for banners and a black cube hot air balloon is a proposed large scale public action conceived collaboratively by Raafat Ishak and Tom Nicholson. The action is projected to be realised in 2007. It involves a group of thirteen banners (produced by Nicholson) and a black cube hot air balloon (designed by Ishak). The banners are marched through the streets, trying to follow the course of the hot air balloon in the sky above. The hot air balloon floats in the sky, trying to follow the course of the banners in the streets below.


A film documenting the action is to be screened at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne in 2008.
