Acknowledgments, Monument for the flooding of Royal Park

Monument for the flooding of Royal Park evolved during a Creative Fellowship at the State Library of Victoria, and the artist would like to acknowledge this programme and the generosity of the Library during his fellowship. Monument for the flooding of Royal Park includes archival images from the Picture Collections of the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne, and the National Library of Australia, Canberra, and both of these institutions generously provided permission for these images to be used in the work. The work also includes two photographs by Jon Rhodes, who generously gave permission for these to be part of the work. Valuable knowledge and reflections on the work during its gestation came from Dominic Redfern, Mihnea Mircan, Ellen Koshland, James McCaughey, Christian Capurro and Clare Land. The vinyl sign at Ferderation Square was created by Design and Deliver Signs with the knowledge of Christopher Langton much appreciated. The support of the Melbourne Prize and Simon Warrender was critical for the work's realisation at Federarion Square. The National Gallery of Victoria generously allowed one of its display windows to be used for the work's installation at the Melbourne Prize, and in particular, the artist would like to thank Dr Gerard Vaughan and Daryl West-Moore. Technical assistance from the IT Department at the Monash University Faculty of Art and Design helped to realise the work at Federation Square, and installation shots of the work were taken by Christian Capurro, with assistance from Libby Brown.
